3:45PM: Gorenstein rings and Tate Resolutions

David Eisenbud

The first part of this talk will be an exposition of some basic theory of Gorenstein rings; then I'll talk about some recent work on Tate resolutions and future directions that I am pursuing with Frank Schreyer, Daniel Erman and Michael Brown.

5:00PM: Biliaison of sheaves

Mengyuan Zhang

We introduce the notion of biliaison of sheaves as a higher rank generalization of biliaison of subvarieties. We show that there is a lattice structure within the biliaison class of sheaves, and extend some structure theorem from biliaison classes of subvarieties to biliaison classes of sheaves.
